XplorStem Named World Design Capital San Diego Tijuana 2024 Science & Technology Legacy Impact Project

We are thrilled to announce that XplorStem LLC has been designated as a World Design Capital San Diego Tijuana 2024 Science & Technology Legacy Impact project. This prestigious recognition underscores our commitment to advancing equitable science and technology education in the San Diego/Tijuana region.

Statistics reveal a stark reality: in the United States, only 30% of students demonstrate a basic grasp of science, with English Language Learners facing even greater challenges, at a mere 3%. Dr. Vicki Nienaber-Meadows, President of XplorStem, emphasizes our mission: "to empower underserved demographics with top-tier science education, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to succeed."

At XplorStem, we remain dedicated to bridging educational gaps and fostering a diverse and inclusive environment within the realm of science and technology. Through the Science and Technology WDC Design Action Network, comprised of representatives from San Diego and Tijuana, we aim to accelerate our program to make science education accessible to native Spanish speakers on both sides of the border.
